Summer Of Laura

Along a lonely beach of a summer colony off the coast of Long Island, a man walks slowly and lives through a summer, the SUMMER OF LAURA, when he was 19 years old. Richie, (David Hunter), has a friend on the island, Gene (Eric Edwards), who is sociable and mischievous. Like the more sensitive Richie, he was 19 years old. During this summer of awakening, he loses his youthful lust and develops his manhood. On his way to the film, Richie literally bumps into Laura (who introduces Marcia Moon) and an older woman who lives nearby. She asks him if he would help her with some chores the next day. He is completely nervous, but agrees. Richie goes to her house and enters after knocking on the door but getting no answer. On the floor he finds a crumpled telegram that reads. Her husband, Bob Hayes, was killed in action. Laura appears, lonely and vulnerable. She moves toward him in a gesture of human contact. They begin to dance slowly. That summer, we lost 5 Frisbees, saved a girl from a stupid snake, saw our first skin blow, and I lost my Laura. The sea rises, and the past is gone.
