Looking lonely and lost, new resident Kathrin sits in a chair holding a letter and biting at her nails. Soon we hear the Headmaster approach. When asked why she is there, she replies she doesn't know. Headmaster Tom tells her that the authorities have sent her to him and deemed her a "special case." He knows this to mean that she is completely out of control, she is trouble. He vows that she will be back under control by the time she leaves GBS.
