This adult-oriented drama was a surprise box office success when it was released in the U.S. in the late **1960s**; it was **one of the first sexually-themed films from Sweden** to find an audience (and a wide release) in America.
**Siv (Essy Persson)** is a young woman who works as a **nurse**. After breaking up with her unexciting fiancee and parting ways with her strict parents, Siv discovers her inexhaustible sexual appetite, and she begins pursuing encounters with her **patients**, colleagues, and the men she meets in her spare time.
However, Siv discovers that many of her **one night stands** are actually looking for a deeper and more lasting relationship, while she prefers to simply live for the moment. A sequel followed three years later, which was also directed by **Mac Ahlberg**.
