After looking for him, she goes to the toilet and is caught in a surreal time loop in which her apartment changes to the same place - 70 years ago. Now it's 1937 and we see a couple there - Greg and Laura, where we witness a strange scene of depraved sexual behaviour. When Amanda wakes up in her modern apartment again, she believes it was all just a dream. But her perspective changes when she meets a visitor from the past, Redman - a carnival roar from 1937 - who helps her put the pieces together so she can find Charlie and bring him back. Using a candelabra of unusual magic, they travel back in time and unlock the secrets of this strange dimension.
